Project Summary:

A multi-shot, fast edit commercial for an Adidas football boot, the F50 adiZero. The commercial features football stars and a 1960's Maserati. All shot within the confines of a studio using a Phantom HD GOLD mounted on a crane, dolly and hand held. Clever use of gobos and flashing lighting rigs combined with camera moves provides the illusion of rapid movement, particularly of the Maserati, in a fast, multi-shot edit.

Project Summary:

In the words of its production company, Independent Films "one of the longest most challenging productions imaginable", shooting was beset by difficulties with weather and footballers' availability. It is however a great, memorable commercial. Most of the football action shots were filmed using three 35mm film cameras and one of our Phantom HD Gold cameras mounted on a pair of dollies racing down long tracks, each camera with a different lens. This allowed jump cutting between wide and long shots of the same action, one version in slow motion. The Phantom HD Gold was running on batteries and remotely triggered.

Project Summary:

The Phantom HD Gold camera was mounted on a highspeed rail system called 'Rail Cam'. This system is commonly used in sports filming in which a rail carrying a moving camera is mounted above a stadium. A remote-controlled camera head rides on a carriage capable of moving at speeds in excess of 10m/s - a speed necessary to capture a 100m sprinter. The shots used here involved building 40m of track from below stage level upwards towards the far ceiling of the studio. As the players kicked the ball, the camera sped past them, rotating to follow the flight of the ball.

Project Summary:

An intriguing room in which objects appear to float from the floor, rising to smash against the ceiling. In reality, the entire room was built upside-down with all objects attached by cables gathered to a central point, to hold them against the upside-down floor. By releasing the cables with an explosive charge, all objects fell simultaneously, with the cables being painted out in post. Shot at 1000fps, the Phantom HD was used for the wide shot and a number of spectacular cut-aways.

Project Summary:

This long and complex action sequence featuring the star players of Manchester United and Arsenal. Shot over 10 days, numerous graphic elements were shot of both real players and their doubles, crowds and Emirates Stadium. The shoot involved both our Phantom HD cameras and two Arri D21's for the 50fps sequences. The advert captures the high drama of Premiership football, revealed in slow motion cut-aways.

Project Summary Text:

Production: Microsoft XBox 360

Director:

Project Summary:

Shot in Prague, a series of 5 commercials featuring different people watching a TV set. The view moves round to the back of their head, which is completely open and encloses a scene of the XBox 360 activity they are involved in. This one features a woman watching movies, which can be downloaded to the XBox 360. The live action of the person was shot using our Phantom HD mounted onto a motion control rig, the move of which was then scaled to lock into the same move around large scale models. The final product has additional CGI elements too.

Production: Tropicana 'Fruit Fireworks' Commercial

Director: Gus Filgate

Project Summary:

Shot over three days, using both our Phantom HD at 1000 fps and our Photron SA1 running at 10,000 fps. Pirate provided effects too, exploding several types of fruit or shot with our air canon (which looks very similar to an explosion). Using our synchronise trigger kit, we triggered each camera to begin recording a few frames before the event, so as to fill the camera memory with action and not still frames of fruit waiting to be hit. A tour de force of editing has produced a very memorable commercial. Please note, this is the Director's Cut.

A family return from holiday to the (heavy) rain of Britain. Rain, puddles and splashes at 1000fps contrasted with comforting the smooth flow of tea into a cup combine to form a reassuring brand image.
