Packshots - TV Sponsorship

Project Summary Text:

Production: 'Kalms' ITV Sponsorship

Director: Holly Mackenzie

Project Summary:

A series of packshots of an anti-stress product featuring the pack in an environment in which stressful things happen. Although the camera does not move, the client chose to use motion control as the package cost at Pirate was actually less than the cost of hiring a camera and associated kit (lenses, recorder, tripod etc) and crew. In addition, the camera could be easily tracked back out of the set whilst the next environment was built, bringing it back in when ready, thus the pack remained in perfect substitution betwen takes.

Medical Injection Sites - Interactive Media Presentation

Project Summary Text:

Production: Medical Injection Sites

Director: Thomas Delfs

Project Summary:

A human head & torso model with the flesh removed, showing main muscle groups was mounted on our slow rotary modelmover. Several multi-point moves were built to bring into focus several injection sites around the face, sides and back of the head. Three passes were made fro each move: the first was a clean, well lit pass; the second, a Dedo-lit pass in which each specific area was highlighted and a third pass in which the model was substituted with a latex model with 'full-flesh'. By mixing between the passes, the director could 'peel away' the flesh to show the muscles beneath and highlight specific injection sites. Combining this with post-production graphics creates a multi-layered graphic look.

Jet Kayak Web Promo

Project Summary Text:

Production: Jet Kayak

Director: John Paul Careless

Project Summary:

An innovative design for a kayak powered by a jet-ski engine shot using motion control. The kayak was mounted on a rotary modelmover at about 1m above the floor: by rotating the kayak slowly in front of the camera, the glossy curves of the kayak moulding moved under the lights whilst the camera travelled up and over it. The end result has the look and feel of an expensive car commercial.
