As with version 1 of this shot, a hole was made in the back of a melon and a large-sized stage maroon was inserted. The electrical signal that was used to trigger the explosion was also used to trigger the camera recording - thus there was no danger to the camera operator. The camera itself was protected by the custom made crash housing, made specially for this type of shot. (Version 1 of this shot used a medium-sized stage maroon).
